WELLS AND VILLAGES IN SINAI
Special mention should be made of the “Pozzi e villaggi nel Sinai” (Wells and Villages in Sinai) project supported by Man Center, in aid of the local communities in Sinai, Egypt (area of Saint Catherine).
The project involves digging wells each of which is to supply water to about 150 families, renovating villages in critical conditions and immediate aid, such as providing clothing and blankets to the needy, in order to cope with the cold winter, in an area located between 900 and 2,640 m above sea level.
Fabio Brucini, the representative in Egypt for Man Center, recently illustrated the nature and importance of the project as follows: “Sinai is a special land and Saint Catherine is its epicenter. Here people of various religious traditions peacefully live together: Muslims, Jews, Catholics... Everything done in this place has a special meaning. I don't know how to express my joy.”
