40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDATION
On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November, at the Monastery of Sargiano, the 40th Anniversary of the Foundation of Man Center was celebrated, and attended by numerous members from the major Italian cities and from abroad.
The Event was gladdened with the presence of the famous singer Antonella Ruggiero.
In His introduction, the President Pier Franco Marcenaro stated that every Celebration of Man Center is a celebration of love and, for love, time does not pass. Time is an invention of man explained the President, in the higher planes of creation there is only one eternal present. An eternal present of 40 years, then, the experience of the Association, made up of moments passed together in which to extol the love and the good qualities that everyone must find in others.
The President then summed up the forty years’ activity of Man Center.
Afterwards, the Vice President Antonio Casapieri spoke, remembering the Headquarters of Lucca and Berceto (Parma) and mentioning the many initiatives that succeeded one another over the years: the marches in favor of world peace, the commitment against marginalization, the protection and appreciation of the environment, the dialog between cultures and religions, and last but not least he mentioned the awards received.
It is precisely in the commitment against marginalization and for aid to people in need that Man Center regularly allocates part of its resources to projects aimed at developing peoples: for this year, the Association has decided to support the “Wells and Villages for Sinai” project, supervised by the Association's representative in Egypt Fabio Brucini.
This was followed with a concert given by Antonella Ruggiero, during which, thanks to her ability as a performer, the well-known singer was able to touch on points that are virtually very far apart from each other. After the long applause she gave Pier Franco Marcenaro a commemorative plaque, in recognition of 40 years’ Presidency of the Association.
Congratulation messages, with deep recognition of past activity and best wishes for a bright future, were sent by all the invited Authorities.
On the next day the celebration continued behind closed doors, with interesting and moving speeches by the President, Vice President and other historic members of the Association in an atmosphere of incredible, loving joy.
